Introduction
Ulutiu, The Eternal Sleeper, governs glaciers, polar environments, arctic dwellers. The sleeping Father of the Giants’ Kin lies beneath the Great Glacier, his enchanted ice necklace sustaining the polar realm and shaping the dreams of northern peoples.
Arctic hunters, sailors, shamans, and scattered giant-kin traditions venerate him. His clergy preserves clan memory, protects subsistence grounds, and teaches endurance without waste in places where a single mistake kills.
The god sends an avatar through a waking dream when the Great Glacier fractures, when his necklace is threatened, or when an arctic people faces erasure. This is a killable vessel of divine will, not the god’s complete being, and its defeat changes the crisis without ending the faith behind it.
Physical Appearance
Ulutiu appears as a broad arctic giant with blue-gray skin, closed or half-open eyes, and fitted blue-white hide armor. His ice-crystal necklace rests against his chest, and he grips a long barbed harpoon.
His beard is cut short and crusted with solid ice. He speaks as if from deep sleep; frost forms only where his hands or feet touch, never as a surrounding cloud.
Roleplaying the Avatar
Ulutiu is slow, mournful, and protective. He remembers vanished clans more clearly than present politics and expects every resource to justify its cost.
- Speak in the present tense about ancient people.
- Count food, fuel, and lives before approving a plan.
- Close the eyes while listening.
- Offer shelter before questions.
- Wake fully only when the glacier or necklace is threatened.
